Optimal field development and production design for unconventional reservoirs: A case study from Central Sub-Basin, Permian Basin, new Mexico

Abstract The planning and developmental decisions succeeding the discovery of an unconventional oil gas field is utmost importance in attaining successful exploitation production from these tight reservoirs. development hydrocarbon reservoirs require requires adequate execution which could be challenging, due to sequence heterogeneous lithologies formations. In this study, we designed presented a comprehensive program that representative Central sub-basin Permian Basin. To design achieve optimal for Basin, New Mexico, utilized data well was drilled TVD/MD 2290 m with PBTD 2270 m. Subsequently, conducted petrophysical evaluation logs decline curve analysis reservoir all members formation. We also developed drilling, completions, facilities programs. Lastly, incorporated economic our optimized design. Our results provide valuable plan critical decision-making insight optimizing Basin across world.
